|St. Benedict's Youth programs, activities, and events available for all teens in grades 9-12. Our mission is to invite teens into a closer relationship with Jesus and His Church. We use relevant teaching techniques and authentic relationship to help teens understand what it is to live true Christianity. We also have all levels of involvement so teens can pick and choose.|

Next weekend men and teens from our parish will be on retreat. We ask that you keep them in your prayers so that the Lord reveals Himself to them and draws them closer in faith.
Journey with James
This semester we are encouraging teens to learn more about the Bible. We will be starting with the Book of James (because he talks so much about the Christian faith) and examining ourselves to see if we’re bearing works worthy of a genuine Christian. This journey will be offered biweekly, with the same sessions here and at St. Francis of Assisi. Bibles will be available, but feel free to bring your own.
- Chapel at St. Benedict of the Abbot on Sundays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on November 19
- Finley Hall at St. Francis of Assisi on Wednesdays from 7:15 to 8:15 pm on November 15
Youth Group - November 12 - The Power of Prayer
We will be meeting at St. Francis of Assisi (not O’Brien Hall as originally published) at 7:00 pm. This is open to all high school students and their friends. The evening will end at 8:30 pm. for sharing your financial and material blessings. Download the flyer.
Youth Group - December 10 - Save the Date
We will be gathering December 10 in O’Brien Hall for Youth Group. The night begins at 7:00 pm and will focus on joyful anticipation in the season of Advent. Dinner will be provided. This is open to all high school students and their friends. The evening will end at 8:30 pm.
Amen to Action
On Friday, November 24, instead of filling shopping bags full of stuff, fill your heart with joy and satisfaction. Bishop Zubik is inviting all Catholic to join him and come together in the spirit of Jesus to worship and pack one million meals of hope for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. All faiths and ages are welcomed to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center from 9 am to 12:30 pm for this event of love.
Ice Skating at PPG
On Sunday, November 26, we are heading downtown for an afternoon of scenery browsing and skating at PPG Place. We will be meeting at South Hills T Station at 2:00 pm to see the Creche and the PPG Wintergarden Holiday Exhibit. Following that we’ll be ice skating at the PPG Rink and then stop for a dinner on the way home to return around 7:00 pm . Cost for the trolley $7.50 plus dinner money. Permission forms are due by Tuesday, November 21.
Genius of Love
Teens and their parents are encouraged to attend Fr. Adam’s Genius of Love series on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel. This series focuses on the human desire to love and be loved. At times teens and parents will be addressed separately. Teens are invited to go to Eat-n-Park afterwards for further discussion and desserts.
Mission Trip is scheduled for July 8-13, 2018 at Villa Maria, PA. This mission trip is open to all incoming high school freshman to college students. The cost for the week is $275. There will be an opportunity to fund raise. If you are interested in registering your teen, please contact Janet at 724-941-9587 ext. 112. Registration due date is December 1.
